Hawaii Procurement Policy Board Scheduled to Meet 9/29/14

The Hawaii Procurement Policy Board is scheduled to meet on September 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the state Controller’s Conference Room, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Kalanimoku Building.  The seven-member Procurement Policy Board adopts, amends, or repeals, administrative rules to carry out and effectuate the purpose and provisions of Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 103D governing the procurement, management, control, and disposal of any and all goods, services, construction, and Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 103F for the purchase of health and human services. The board considers and decides on matters of policy, including those referred to it by a chief procurement officer; conducts audits and monitors the implementation of its rules and the requirements of its statutes.

Minutes from the August 4th Hawaii Procurement Policy Board meeting have not been publicly posted and the July meeting was cancelled. The board’s April 17th meeting minutes can be found here: 2014_0417-PROCUREMENT-POLICY-BOARD-minutes-FINAL

At the April Hawaii Procurement Policy Board meeting (and reflected in the notes), the board briefly discussed “piggy-backing” on existing contracts. It was noted that HRS 103D-802 allows cooperative purchasing, which occurs when one government procurement unit procures with one or more other government procurement units or qualified nonprofit agencies pursuant to HAR Chapter 3-128.
